Hi, nice to meet you.

My name is Sam (she/her), the human behind UNLEASH. I am a visual artist, photographer, print maker, and small business owner. I grew up at the base of the North Shore mountains and have been drawing since I was big enough to hold a pencil.

Art has always been my way of making sense of the world. As a kid, I would stay up late and tape my drawings to my bunk bed and have solo art exhibitions, signing everything “UNLEASH your inner Monsterz <3”.

I attended Emily Carr University of Art and Design from 2017-2020 where I studied a variety of things such as photography, performance art, painting, and electronic art.

Now, I am living and creating on the beautiful lands of the Lekwungen people (Victoria, BC). I am inspired by my experiences with mental illness, eating disorders, SA, joy, love, heartbreak, and all the things in between.

My current art practice is focused on sustainability by using materials that already exist. I source my materials from thrift stores, people who donate their old stuff to me, random yard sales, and online postings.

Everything we need already exists, and by adding to them, their life gets extended, thanks to you!
